Towards a Green and Sustainable Cultural Sector

A status report from Norway

In this report, we investigate how sustainability policy and cultural policy are interconnected, and how cultural policy and the cultural sector are evolving in response to Agenda 2030 and the sustainability goals. Through document studies and interviews, we shed light on these questions from various perspectives. Culture is not defined as an independent dimension of sustainability on par with the economy, social conditions, and the environment. There are also no specific sustainability goals related to culture. So, how does the cultural sector respond to the fact that sustainable transformation and the sustainability goals are defined as the main focus of Norwegian policy until 2030?
