Vebjørn Egner Stafseng

Vebjørn Stafseng is a researcher and agroecologist with an interest in sustainable transformation of the food system. He has an academic background in culture and communication and agroecology and is in the final stages of a PhD in agroecology and urban agriculture at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.Academically, he has particular expertise in participatory and co-creative research methods, qualitative methods, Norwegian agriculture and food system, and urban agriculture. His research interests are broad within the food system, from social and environmental conditions on the farm to challenges in the consumer sector. He is particularly interested in the challenges that arise in the transformation processes to more sustainable societies.In his doctoral project, he explored, through participatory action research, the opportunities and challenges of urban agriculture in public space and how it can be developed into inclusive urban spaces. Among other things, a key issue is how to handle conflicting visions for urban spaces in order to achieve lasting positive development
