
Apply for a master’s scholarship – deadline December 15th
August 25, 2024Are you going to write a master’s thesis that is academically relevant for us? Then you can apply for Telemark Research Institute’s (TRI) master’s grant.
Telemark Research Institute is offering master’s scholarships of 15,000 NOK to students writing theses within our five subject areas: green transition, health, education and welfare, municipal and regional development, local public finance and organization and cultural life and cultural policy.
Many fields of study are of interest to us, as we are a multidisciplinary research institute. Examples of academic backgrounds our researchers have include: social economy, political science, cultural science, sociology, organizational science, social anthropology, special pedagogy, cultural history, social geography, social development, and planning.
We are awarding two scholarships for this application period. The scholarships are open to students from across the country, thus all students are eligible to apply
You get
- A scholarship of 15,000 NOK
- Mentoring from a researcher at Telemark Research Institute (limited time)
- The opportunity to connect with ongoing research projects at Telemark Research Institute, if relevant and practically possible. This will be adapted to each student and the project situation at Telemark Research Institute.
You contribute with
- An oral presentation of your master’s thesis to Telemark Research Institute after you have passed the thesis.
Application process
Send a short description (max. 3 pages) of the master’s project by email to rebekka.s.myhrer@tmforsk.no. The application must include theory, research question, and methodology. You must also write about how the subject of your thesis is academically relevant to us, in accordance with our research areas. Please also provide your place of study, field of study, and phone number.
Deadline: December 15th 2024
Applications will be evaluated by the research group leaders based on the following criteria and their respective weightings:
- Quality of the proposed project (60%)
- Relevance to the subject areas of Telemark Research Institute (40%)
