Marianne har fått prestisjefylt stipend!

Seniorforsker Marianne Singsaas har blitt tildelt Fulbright Research Award og skal høsten 2023 tilbringe 3 måneder ved Cornell University i USA.

Forsker på forvaltning av skrantesjuke (CWD)

Under sitt utenlandsopphold ved Cornell University, CALS (College of Agriculture and Life Sciences), skal Marianne studere sosiale effekter av forvaltning av Chronic Wasting Disease (skrantesjuke). USA har hatt CWD i over 50 år, og Cornell er det ledende forskningsmiljøet på dette temaet. Marianne har forsket på villrein og tematikken rundt skrantesyke i flere år, blant annet gjennom gjennom prosjektet Governing transitions in the Norwegian Outfields (GOVOUT).

Fulbright Research Award

Det prestisjefylte Fulbright-stipendet ble opprettet i 1949 og på hjemmesiden står det følgende om stipendet:

“The Fulbright Program is one of the most widely recognized and prestigious international exchange programs in the world, and operates in over 160 countries. Approximately 8,000 grants are awarded through the Fulbright Program annually, of which 900 are awarded to visiting scholars. The program is a transformative experience resulting in significant impact on teaching, research and service. Awardees capitalize on opportunities gained through the program to publish new research, develop new research topics, and seek grant funding. Fulbright scholars also maintain strong collaborative relationships with colleagues from their host countries”
